OVERALL RECREATION PHILOSOPHY
Recreation District #1/Pelican Park strives to provide quality, first class recreation opportunities for both youth and adult citizens of Recreation District #1. Pelican Park defines recreation to include sports, social, outdoor and nature, senior citizens, special populations, classes, and special events.

YOUTH SPORTS PHILOSOPHY
Recreation District #1/Pelican Park strives to design programs that develop fundamentals of the sport, build character, self-esteem, leadership abilities, and teach the value of teamwork.

 

ADULT SPORTS
Pelican Park offers 3 sessions of adult sports yearly.  The sports currently are Men’s recreation Softball (Sundays), Men’s Competitive Softball (Thursdays), Co-ed Just For Fun Cabbage ball (Fridays), Men’s Over 35 Basketball (Wednesdays), Co-ed Just For Fun Volleyball (Thursdays), Women’s Recreation Softball (Sundays), and Women’s Recreation Volleyball (Wednesdays).
Registration is 3 times a year.  The first session registers in February, the second session registers in May, and the third session registers in July.  Registration is per team but individuals may call the Park office and be placed on an interested players list.
